Picks vs
Amazon OneLink

Public documentation review

Amazon OneLink is stronger when free, first-party international redirection for eligible Amazon links is the whole job. Picks is stronger when you need to discover what is already published, keep uncertain checks separate from confirmed problems, and manage reviewed destinations behind one editable Picks URL.

Picks is independent and is not Amazon. Amazon has not approved or endorsed Picks. OneLink behavior is based on the first-party sources below; no private account was tested.

Decision brief
Choose by primary job

There is no universal winner.

Picks is stronger for
Audit and manage Amazon links across a creator workflow, including a bounded YouTube back-catalog scan, explicit health evidence, and editable destinations.
Amazon OneLink is stronger for
Add free international redirection to eligible Amazon full or native short links through Amazon Associates, without introducing a third-party hosted URL.
A sensible split
Use OneLink for eligible untouched Amazon URLs and Picks for separate diagnostics or managed routes—but do not assume OneLink processes third-party shortened links.

The practical comparison

Start with the four criteria that usually decide the purchase. Open the additional detail only when the fit is still close; every claim and source remains in the page.

Four deciding criteria: starting job, visible proof, cost today, and URL dependency.

Redirect eligible international shoppers from an Amazon link to a local Amazon website.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink overview and FAQ

OneLink is a localization feature. Picks is a broader link-operations workspace.

Price

Free includes unlimited managed links and routed traffic plus creator-configured country routes. Future $9 Protection and $29 Automation plans fund continuous verification and approved automated work; Stripe checkout is not connected.

Read current pilot terms

Amazon states that OneLink and its features are free.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink overview and FAQ

Both can cover routing without a traffic bill. OneLink remains first-party; Picks adds independent aliases, editing, evidence, and export.

Existing YouTube catalog

The public audit examines up to 100 recent videos and up to 100 deduplicated Amazon destinations, then maps findings to affected videos.

See affected-video mapping

The reviewed OneLink pages describe redirection and matching preferences, not a channel inventory or back-catalog audit.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink overview and FAQ

Picks answers “what is already published?” before asking you to change the route layer.

Provider and continuity

Picks is independent and is not Amazon. Paid-plan downgrade does not stop free-core routes, and a complete route-definition export is available; Picks-hosted URLs still depend on Picks and are subject to legal, abuse, security, deletion, and service-wind-down limits.

Read the Picks continuity boundary

OneLink is operated by Amazon and works on supported Amazon URLs. There is no separate third-party hosted route to migrate.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink overview and FAQ

OneLink wins on first-party simplicity; Picks adds control and evidence at the cost of another operational dependency.

Supported public link

Public diagnostics accept direct Amazon storefront URLs and supported Amazon-owned short domains. Managed Picks routes use a Picks public URL.

See supported URL diagnostics

OneLink supports Amazon full links and Amazon short links after setup; Amazon says third-party shortened links are not supported.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink matching and link-support FAQ

OneLink preserves the Amazon URL layer. Picks adds an independent managed route when central control is needed.

Product matching controls

The free localizer creates a target-store candidate for review. Managed automatic matches require verified, high-confidence, or manually approved destinations; otherwise the source storefront remains the fallback.

Try the conservative localizer

OneLink offers Close Match and Exact Match preferences at the tracking-ID level, with a local search experience when its documented match rules do not find the desired product.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink matching and link-support FAQ

OneLink gives account-level first-party preferences; Picks keeps candidate approval and route evidence closer to each managed link.

Preview before publishing

The localizer identifies the source ASIN and storefront, strips the source tag, and shows a target-store candidate that must be verified before publishing.

Inspect the preview boundary

The Check Matching Products section lets an Associate preview the destination for a given US product link.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink matching and link-support FAQ

Both expose a preview boundary; neither preview is proof of future availability or commission credit.

Health and repair queue

The public audit separates appeared healthy, needs attention, and could not verify, with a recorded check time and affected-video mapping.

See the three evidence states

No proactive catalog-health queue was found in the reviewed OneLink documentation. Amazon’s separate Link Checker is intended for links created or modified outside Associates Central.

First-party source: Amazon Associates Link Checker guidance

OneLink routes eligible traffic; Picks is the more direct fit for a dated inspection and follow-up workflow.

Central destination edits

A managed Picks route can be edited in one workspace so future visits use the reviewed destination configuration.

Open managed destinations

OneLink changes matching behavior, but the source content still contains the original Amazon URL; replacing that source product requires editing the published URL.

First-party source: Amazon OneLink matching and link-support FAQ

Picks adds an editable alias. OneLink avoids the dependency of a third-party alias.

Current product contractFree core and managed-link continuityCore links and routed visits are free. Paid plans are not charging yet, and a complete route-definition export is available.
Free core
Unlimited managed links and routed visits, readable aliases, country-aware storefront routing after visitor choice, manual editing and disabling, basic analytics, and complete link-map export do not carry a per-click charge.
Paid plans
Protection is listed at $9 per month and Automation at $29 per month. Both are marked coming soon. Stripe is not connected, so Picks does not currently collect payment for either plan.
Downgrade
Traffic volume or ending a future paid plan does not disable an otherwise permitted free-core route. Provider-backed checks and automated work may pause while the last creator-approved free routing configuration remains in place.
Deletion and shutdown
Account deletion, legal requirements, abuse, security incidents, retailer-policy changes, and a service wind-down remain explicit exceptions. Picks will provide reasonable notice and an export opportunity where practicable, but does not promise uptime after deletion or company closure.
Exports
The dashboard provides a versioned JSON link map containing workspace routing settings, regional tracking IDs, groups, domains, presets, links, rules, approved destinations, and public URLs. Click events, billing records, provider credentials, and OAuth tokens are deliberately excluded.

Migration recommendation: export the route map, test a low-risk set of placements, retain the original description backup, and remember that every third-party hosted URL remains a dependency even when its configuration is portable.

Questions to answer before you switch

Run this list against a small, low-risk slice of your real catalog. A demo route cannot reveal the migration burden of years of published content.

  1. 01

Are all published URLs Amazon full links or Amazon-native short links that OneLink supports?

  2. 02

Do Exact Match, Close Match, and search fallback produce acceptable destinations for your important products?

  3. 03

Do you need one central edit to change a product across many placements, or is editing source content acceptable?

  4. 04

Who will inspect product availability, unexpected destinations, missing tags, and old YouTube descriptions after setup?

Common questions

Short answers, with the same evidence boundary as the full comparison.

Is Picks affiliated with or approved by Amazon?

No. Picks is an independent product and is not Amazon. Its link and product observations are point-in-time evidence, not Amazon-authoritative product data or proof of Associates eligibility, tracking-ID ownership, or commission credit.

Is Amazon OneLink free?

Amazon’s current OneLink FAQ says OneLink and its features are free. Participation still depends on the applicable Associates programs, account setup, tracking IDs, and marketplace requirements.

Does OneLink work with third-party link shorteners?

Amazon’s current OneLink documentation says it works with Amazon full links and Amazon short links after setup, but shortened links created by third parties are not supported.

Does OneLink replace link-health monitoring?

Not based on the public documentation reviewed for this comparison. OneLink documents international matching, preferences, and reporting. Amazon also offers a separate, limited Link Checker for certain self-created or modified links. Neither reviewed page presents a proactive catalog-health queue or YouTube back-catalog audit.

Method and sources

Reviewed August 13, 2026. We used current, first-party pricing, help, and account-policy pages. Published product behavior is a vendor claim unless independently measured. “Not found” means the sampled public material did not answer the question; it does not prove an account-gated feature is absent. Picks claims are limited to the current public tools and implemented product workflows.

Prices and capabilities can change. Recheck the linked source and the provider’s current terms before making a purchase or migration decision.
