About Picks Research.
How Picks identifies, organizes, and explains observed creator-to-product links.
Coverage
This edition reads 97,988 public video-description records across 115 technology channels and resolves 77,077 affiliate destinations. The records are dated from August 30, 2007 through August 9, 2026.
Coverage varies substantially by channel. Results may not include every video or link a creator has published, and listing state can change after the source edition.
- Source edition recorded
- August 9, 2026
- Exact product observations
- 175,106 ASIN-matched observations.
- Current edition
- 104 creator pages and 498 product pages.
How channels and pages are selected
A manually curated technology-review channel set that includes the source study’s top English-speaking reviewer cohort plus broader channels; it is not a representative sample of YouTube.
Affiliate URLs are resolved to their final destinations and matched to ASIN-level product records when available; description text is retained only as source wording or fallback identity.
- Product threshold
- An ASIN-level product must be connected to at least 5 distinct creators to receive a public product page.
- Creator threshold
- A creator must have at least 5 accepted product relationships to receive a public creator page.
- Recognized destinations
- Amazon product and storefront URLs, a.co, amzn.to, amzn.eu, amzn.asia, geni.us, howl.link, howl.me, bestbuy.7tiv.net.
Source-description receipts
Each public evidence row links to as many as three exact YouTube videos whose descriptions contained the retained product-link relationship. These links are provenance for the description record only: they do not claim that the video discusses, reviews, recommends, or endorses the product.
Channel names, handles, and linked videos come from YouTube. Structured Amazon listing observations supplied by the source dataset through a licensed third-party product-data provider; not Amazon-authoritative data.
What the fields mean
- Resolved product
- The source affiliate URL reached an Amazon listing with an ASIN and was matched to a structured product record.
- Listing state
- Resolved destinations and product states are edition snapshots. Available, unavailable, removed, redirected, dead, and unresolved outcomes remain distinct.
- Times observed
- The number of accepted product-link observations in this edition. It is not a click, sale, or endorsement count.
- Destinations
- The number of distinct linked destination strings represented by those observations.
- Observed range
- The earliest and latest dates associated with the relationship, shown at month precision on evidence pages.
Reading the data
Creator pages show up to 15 resolved products first, ordered by observation count within each identity tier, with source-video receipts. The free signed-in workspace contains the complete inventory. Product pages show every creator included in this edition.
Link presence is the signal. It is not evidence of recommendation, ownership, endorsement, current availability, or commission credit. A higher observation count means the relationship appeared more often in the observed material; it does not rank product quality or creator sentiment.
Limitations
- ASIN-level identity is exact to the resolved listing, but sellers can change listing titles, imagery, variations, bundles, and availability after observation.
- Links that resolve to search pages, storefronts, non-Amazon destinations, or inconclusive outcomes cannot be assigned an exact product without guessing.
- Shortened destinations, retailer listings, source videos, channel names, and handles can change or disappear after observation.
- The curated technology-channel sample is directional research, not a representative or complete census of creators, products, videos, YouTube, or affiliate programs.
